Aug 19, 2016. Using ODBC (32-bit and 64-bit) on 64-bit Windows. 64-bit Windows has some surprising and counterintuitive setup and behavior around 32-bit and 64-bit ODBC. Many 64-bit environments still support 32-bit applications, and these require 32-bit ODBC drivers and DSNs, so it's important to understand how. If you are using 64-bit Stata, you will need a 64-bit driver. If you are using 32-bit Stata, you will need a 32-bit driver. You should be able to download the appropriate 64-bit or 32-bit database driver from your data source's database vendor. You will have to follow the driver installation instructions for it to show up in the ODBC.

I want to add 32-bit data sources. There seems to be no obvious way to see existing instances of these or create new ones.

Just a small note to Zorodache answer, if you use the search box from the start menu type the whole path to get the correct version c:WindowsSysWOW64odbcad32.exe.

Otherwise, you will get the 64-bit version, even if you enter odbcad32.exe in the search box.
