I do believe that you can see the flexing and you can splice the wires would certainly be easier than changing a harness...not to argue, but there are ways of finding this flexed and broken wire...one way is to check the functionality of the devices built into the door...(power mirror) windows~...lockin'...it's all there without having to re-wire everything...use your tester and your head on this...there are 'pincers' where a pin goes into the wire and clamps hold...Radio Snack has these~

of course black shrink-wrap and a hair-dryer~ to make your repair final...so Solder, shrink wrap, soldering iron and needle-test leads to find the power is there or NOT (the wire you're repairing) so this isn't rocket science...a person who can fill out a birthday card should be able to complete this mission~
